Pig Farmhand

Job Location: Primarily in Walkerville, MI and surrounding areas (Fremont, Hesperia, Newaygo, Custer).

Primary Role: Take care of and transport pigs at multiple locations


  • Work between multiple hog barns - at company owned hog barns and contract partner owned barns with pigs of various sizes
  • Communicate with manager and contract partners regarding the overall health of the pigs and barn
  • Basic pig needs: check food and water, administer vaccines and medication when needed, follow PQA (Pig Quality Assurance) guidelines
  • Check barns: some light maintenance at times, pressure-wash barns when time for cleaning
  • Pig transport: load pigs in and out of barns, drive semi-truck with livestock trailer to transport pigs from barn to barn safely following TQA (Transport Quality Assurance) guidelines
  • This is a physical labor job and requires being on feet, bending and lifting


  • Valid driver's license preferably with a CDL or F-stamp endorsement
  • Good communication skills
  • Work well with others and individually
  • Be on time, dependable, honest, and have a good work ethic

Full-time, 40-50 hours per week, hours vary and can be early but approx. 4:00/5:00am-2:00/3:00pm (not nights), some weekends
Prior agriculture or livestock experience is very beneficial, although not required
